Yes. To set up and use everHome, an Internet connection is a prerequisite.
The everHome CloudBox transmits data to the sensors and actuators via radio. Inside the house or apartment, it is recommended to set up the CloudBox on the ground floor. Although reinforced concrete ceilings or particularly thick walls have an unfavorable effect on the range, if a central CloudBox location is selected, it generally covers a single-family home. With another CloudBox you increase the range within a house or apartment. Each device can then be assigned to the nearest CloudBox. It is not possible to share CloudBoxes from different packages in one customer account.

The free everHome app for Android or iOS
The everHome CloudBox should be set up in a dust-free and dry location away from direct sunlight. This location should be located as central as possible to the devices to be controlled (sensors and actuators). Avoid as a location remote or radio-shielded rooms or cabinets.
1. Plug the supplied network cable into the Ethernet port of your everHome CloudBox and connect it to a free LAN port on your router.
2. Connect the everHome CloudBox to the mains using the supplied USB power adapter and wait for the end of the boot process. The LED indicator lights up permanently 'green'.

The everHome CloudBox is ready for use when the light is solid green. If the indicator 'Red' or 'Blue' is lit, the everHome CloudBox can not connect to the everHome server. check your internet connection and your router settings.
Red: The cloudbox can not connect to the home network.
Blue: The Cloudbox has received an IP address on your home network, but can not reach the everHome server on the Internet.
Green: The CloudBox is connected to the everHome server.
The offered everHome CloudBox 3.0 packages initially differ in terms of the maximum number of sensors and actuators to be used. The everHome packages also differ in terms of the manufacturers of sensors and actuators that you can use. For example, if you decide to use the everHome BASIS package and then find out that you would like to use more than 10 sensors / actuators, you can switch to the PLUS or PREMIUM package at any time. A hardware replacement of CloudBox 3.0 is not required.

All Intertechno radio remote controls can still be used. Your Intertechno devices are additionally switched by the everHome CloudBox. However, switching operations of the Intertechno wireless remote control can not be taken into account when displaying the last switched action for a device. The additional learning of radio remote controls is also useful to be able to switch the device in case of failure of the Internet connection.
It is easiest to set up wireless adapter plugs near your PC and the everHome CloudBox. Then you can place them at the intended location.
Wireless built-in switches must generally be connected to the power side first in order to be able to subsequently set them up in the everHome portal. Tips for preparation:
When setting up a device in the everHome portal, assign a device name. Create a room before setting up a device. This allows you to easily assign the set-up device to a room and keep track of your devices
Setting Up Wireless Built-in Switches: Ideally, use a laptop or tablet to conveniently set up the device where the device is installed. If you do not have a mobile computer, you can set it up on your PC. The time between the individual furnishing steps is sufficient to go to the device and perform the necessary manipulations. First set up, then install: For radio-mounted converters with complex installation, first set up the device in the everHome portal. Operation of the device during setup is easier and it is ensured that the device functions properly before it is completely installed. To allow devices with random code to communicate with the everHome CloudBox, this connection must be set up once in the first place. This is usually done by adding a new device in the everHome portal and then pressing a button on the device (teach-in process). Then switch on the device in the everHome portal with the action ON in order to provide the device with a randomly generated address. This device address is then stored in the everHome portal and stored on the device. The device can then be operated via the everHome portal and the everHome app.
The operation manual for your device describes this procedure. If the device does not have a button for deleting the stored addresses, the action OFF should be sent when the device is in teach-in mode. This is the case, for example, with the Intertechno ITR-1500 wireless adapter ON / OFF device. Note that this random code is no longer available if you have deleted the device in the everHome portal.

All sensors and actuators listed under Compatible Products can be used with everHome. This list is constantly expanding.
A HomeMatic sensor or actuator stores the address of the CloudBox when it is being taught to the CloudBox. Since only one address can be stored, a HomeMatic sensor or actuator can only be registered at a gateway (CloudBox or CCU). The use of the HomeMatic CCU / CCU2 is therefore not possible.
Radio tubular motors
EverHome can be operated together with manual wireless shutter switches. You can control your tubular motors in the everHome app, the everHome portal and the wireless shutter switches.
Somfy RTS devices
All Somfy RTS actuators can be controlled with everHome. The Somfy RTS actuators are simply additionally taught in everHome and can then be used. You can still use your Somfy RTS radio remote control.
Devices from other manufacturers
At the moment io-homecontrol is not controllable by everHome. Io-homecontrol includes devices such as Velux electric roller shutters with KUX110 control over 868 MHz. However, Somfy RTS actuators (433 MHz) are compatible with everHome.
Is there a push-button available in the garage or does the garage door drive have a connection for an external switch? Instead of the push-button or switch, you can install an Intertechno Allrounder ITL-1000 with 2 seconds on-time, switching the garage door to everHome.

Your account ensures secure access to your home - no matter where you are. Your customer account can be reached via the everHome portal. Here you log in with your email address and your password.
Continue to use your customer account for secure access to your home via the everHome App of SmartPhone and Tablet.
For the password to be accepted by the everHome portal, it must be at least 8 characters long.
The scope of delivery of your everHome package includes an everHome customer account. You can use it indefinitely and there are no additional monthly costs to you.
We plan to offer additional features (which are not included in the functionality at the time of purchase of the everHome package) in everHome, for which a monthly usage fee may be payable. Also, in the future, we will optionally offer fee-based additional feature module licenses to extend the functionality of everHome.

This presence feature is supported by both Google's Android and Apple's iOS. The operating system registers a so-called Geofence (a geographical position in the form of latitude and longitude) and an associated radius (orbit). When entering or leaving the perimeter any actions can be switched in everHome or the presence of the residents in the home can be recognized.
Since the everHome CloudBox is connected to the Internet via your router, you can control your devices on the move either with your smartphone, tablet or any PC with Internet access. either open the everHome portal with the PC's browser and log in or simply use the everHome app to control your devices while on the move. It is not necessary to change the configuration of your router.
For security reasons, logging in with the everHome account in the browser will invalidate a previously existing browser session on the everHome server.
Thus, no unauthorized person on the browser of a device can abuse your registered browser session and act under your customer account.

When it comes to hosting, especially in the context of cloud computing, recurring concerns that data can not be completely deleted. At everHome you retain control over your data: When you tell us to delete your customer account, all your data is completely removed from the server.
For an IP camera to be used as a sensor in everHome, it must have motion detection. If a motion is detected, the IP camera must be able to take a photo and upload it to an FTP server. The everHome server is named FTP server. By assigning username and password, several IP cameras can be distinguished for your customer account.
Then the desired action is stored for a device.
1. Presence: In order to be able to recognize for the home the presence (mode of the home) of its inhabitants, the user can deposit under his personal data the coordinates of his home. Another parameter is the radius that defines the perimeter used for approach and removal. If the presence function is activated in the resident's everHome app on their mobile device, the everHome app will report to the everHome server that they are entering and leaving this area. Hereby the mode of the home is set in the dashboard. Furthermore, this mode of the home influences the execution of plans.
2. Presence status for a mobile device: For a mobile device, a geofence (longitude and latitude with radius) can also be stored. This geofence can (but does not have to) match the geofence of the home mode. Entering and leaving this area can take action on a device.
The number of sensors and actuators usable in everHome is unlimited. However, the number of sensors and actuators to add is limited for some everHome packages.
EverHome IP Camera Support
A setting on the router to use an IP camera is not required.
Please check whether the CloudBox is supplied with sufficient voltage. If you supply power to the CloudBox via the USB port of your router (not recommended), please use the supplied USB power adapter.
Check the USB power adapter that you temporarily connect to another USB power adapter.
Check your internet connection.
Check if DHCP is enabled on your router.
Your Internet service provider disconnects your Internet connection approximately every 24 hours and assigns a new IP address to your router. As a result, the CloudBox loses the connection to the everHome server and has to rebuild it. It is therefore not an error.
As the CloudBox repeatedly checks the connection to the everHome server, a few automatic reconnects are completely normal.
If you had previously used the device, then the device has already been assigned a device address. Simply reset the device to factory settings as described in the operating instructions of the device.
If the device with random code does not receive any device address from the everHome CloudBox when setting up, reduce the distance between the device and everHome CloudBox. Due to structural conditions or to a great distance, the radio range may be limited.
